Part 1 (Introduction & Interview) Topic: Work

What work do you do?

I work as an accountant at a small company.

Why did you choose to do that type of work?

I chose it because I’m good with numbers and I enjoy organising things.

Do you like your job? [Why/Why not?]

Yes, I like it because it’s stable and I work with nice people.

What do you dislike about your job?

Sometimes the workload gets heavy, especially during tax season.

Part 2 (Long Turn / Cue Card)

Describe a time when you helped someone. You should say:

– who you helped

– how you helped them

– why you helped them – and explain how you felt about helping this person.

Last year, I helped my friend prepare for a job interview. She was nervous, so I helped her practise answering questions and gave her some tips. I did this because she’s a good friend and I wanted her to succeed. She got the job in the end, which made me really happy. I felt proud because my support made a difference and it brought us even closer.

Part 3 (Discussion) Topic: Helping Others

Why do people like helping others?

Because it makes them feel good and builds stronger relationships.

Do you think people help others more now than in the past?

I think people help in different ways now, like through social media or donations online.

How can children learn to help others?

Parents and teachers can set a good example and encourage them to share and be kind.
