Part 1 (Introduction & Interview)

Are you happy to be the age you are now? [Why/Why not?]

Yes, I’m happy because I feel more confident and independent than when I was younger.

When you were a child, did you think a lot about your future?[Why/Why not?]

Yes, I did. I often imagined what job I’d have and where I’d live because I was curious about growing up.

Do you think you have changed as you got older? [Why/Why not?]

Yes, I’ve changed a lot. I’ve become more responsible and I understand life better now.

What will be different about your life in the future?[Why?]

I think I’ll have more responsibilities like a full-time job or maybe a family, so my routine will be busier.

Part 2 (Long Turn / Cue Card)

Describe a time when you started using a new technological device (e.g., a new computer or phone). You should say:

– What device you started using.

– Why you started using this device.

– How easy or difficult it was to use.

– And explain how helpful this device was to you.

Last year, I started using a new smartphone that I bought for my studies and work. My old phone was really slow and the battery kept dying, so I decided to get a new one with better features. At first, it was a bit difficult to understand all the new settings and functions because it was an upgraded model with many new apps. But after a few days, I got used to it and found it quite easy to use. This phone has been really helpful for me because I use it for almost everything — attending online classes, taking notes, checking emails, and even making presentations. It also has a good camera, so I can take clear photos of my notes and record lectures. Overall, this device has made my daily life much easier and more organised, and I feel more connected with my friends and family too. I think I can’t imagine my life now without this phone because it saves me so much time and helps me stay updated.

Part 3 (Discussion)

What is the best age for children to start computer lessons?

I think around six or seven is a good age because kids can understand basic instructions by then.

Do you think that schools should use more technology to help children learn?

Yes, definitely. Technology makes lessons more interesting and interactive, which helps students learn better.

Do you agree or disagree that computers will replace teachers one day?

I disagree. Computers are helpful, but teachers give personal guidance and motivation that machines can’t replace.
