Part 1 — Introduction & Interview (Topic: Home)
Do you live in a house or a flat?
I live in a flat with my family. It’s on the third floor and has three bedrooms.
What do you like about living there?
I like that it’s quite spacious and gets lots of sunlight during the day. Also, it’s close to shops and public transport.
Is there anything you’d like to change about your home?
Yes, I’d love to have a small balcony or a garden. It would be nice to relax outside.
Do you plan to live there for a long time?
For now, yes, but in the future, I’d like to buy my own house with more space.
Part 2 — Cue Card
Describe a special meal you have had. You should say:
- where you had the meal
- who you were with
- what you ate
- and explain why it was special for you.
One special meal I remember was a dinner I had with my family about a year ago. It was to celebrate my parents’ wedding anniversary. We went to a nice restaurant in the city that serves traditional food.
I was with my parents, my brother, and my grandparents. It was really nice because we don’t often all eat out together. We ordered lots of dishes to share, like grilled fish, spicy curries, fresh salads, and delicious desserts. My favourite part was the chocolate cake at the end — it was amazing.
This meal was special for me because it brought the whole family together. Everyone was happy and laughing, and we spent hours talking about old memories. It felt good to take a break from busy life and enjoy each other’s company. Also, I paid for part of the meal with my own money for the first time, so I felt proud to contribute. It’s one of those evenings I’ll always remember because it was simple but meaningful.
Part 3 (Discussion) Topic: Food and Social Life
Why do people like to eat together with family or friends?
Because sharing food helps people connect and strengthens relationships. It’s a way to relax and talk about things.
Do people in your country prefer to eat at home or in restaurants?
I think many prefer eating at home because it’s cheaper and feels more comfortable. But young people enjoy going to restaurants for special occasions.
Is food important in your culture?
Yes, food is a big part of our culture. We have many festivals and traditions where cooking and sharing meals is very important.
