Part 1 (Introduction & Interview) Topic: Neighbours
Do you know the people who live next door to you?
Yes, I know them quite well — we greet each other and sometimes chat.
How often do you see your neighbours?
I see them almost every day because we often meet outside our houses.
What problems do people sometimes have with their neighbours?
Noise is the biggest problem — loud music or parties can be annoying.
How do you think neighbours can help each other?
They can help by keeping an eye on each other’s houses and sharing things if needed.
Part 2 (Long Turn / Cue Card)
Describe a time when you saved money for something. You should say:
what you wanted to buy
how long it took you to save enough money
how you saved the money
and explain how you felt after you bought it.
Last year, I saved money to buy a new laptop for my studies. It took me about six months to save enough because I was only earning a little from my part-time job. I saved by spending less on clothes and eating out. When I finally bought the laptop, I felt really proud of myself. It was worth it because it helped me a lot with my assignments and online classes. I felt more independent because I bought it with my own money.
Part 3 (Discussion) Topic: Money and Spending
Why do some people like to save money?
Because it makes them feel secure and ready for emergencies.
Is it better to save money or spend it on enjoyment?
I think it’s good to balance both — save some and spend some to enjoy life.
Why do young people sometimes find it hard to save money?
Because they want to buy new things or go out with friends, so they spend a lot.
