The weather in my hometown is mostly hot and sunny because it’s in a warm region.

I like cool and cloudy weather because it feels fresh and comfortable.

Do you like the weather in your country? [Why/Why not?]

Yes, I do. It’s mostly pleasant, but sometimes it gets too hot in summer, which I don’t like.

Would you like to live in a place with different weather? [Why/Why not?]

Yes, I’d love to live somewhere with mild winters and more rain because I enjoy cooler climates.

Part 2 (Long Turn / Cue Card)

Describe a family celebration that you remember. You should say:

– what you were celebrating – where and when it happened

– who was there

– and explain why you remember this family celebration well.

One family celebration I remember well was my sister’s wedding. It happened about three years ago in a big hall in my hometown. All our relatives and close friends were there, so it was a large gathering. We had beautiful decorations, delicious food, and lots of music and dancing. I remember it so clearly because it was such a joyful day for our whole family. Everyone was happy, dressed in colourful clothes, and enjoying the moment. It was also special for me because I helped with the arrangements and felt proud to see everything go perfectly. It was a day full of love and good memories that I’ll never forget.

Part 3 (Discussion)

Topic: Family Celebrations

Why are family celebrations important in your culture?

They bring everyone together, strengthen relationships, and help us create happy memories.

How have family celebrations changed in your country over time?

Nowadays, people often prefer smaller, more modern parties instead of big traditional ones, to save money and time.

Do you think family celebrations will become more or less common in the future?

I think they’ll stay common because people always want to celebrate special moments with loved ones.

Topic: National Celebrations

Why do countries have national celebrations?

National celebrations remind people of their history and help them feel united and proud of their country.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of public celebrations?

The advantage is they bring people together and boost local business, but sometimes they cause noise or traffic problems.

Do you think young people feel the same about national celebrations as older people do?

Not always — older people often feel more connected to the tradition, while young people sometimes just enjoy the day off.
